Dali Phantom E-60S Stereo In Ceiling Speakers
The PHANTOM E-60 S is the first build-in stereo speaker by DALI - featuring two 20 mm tweeters. Its compact size makes it perfect for small to medium-sized rooms or as height speakers in a multi-channel setup. The E-60 S can be tuned according to the room acoustics, resulting in a fantastic integration and a high level of details.
The new PHANTOM E-60 S stereo speaker builds on the heritage of the highly acclaimed DALI PHANTOM E-60 in-ceiling speaker - featuring two 20 mm soft dome textile tweeters.
With a distance of 144 mm between the tweeters, you will experience a wider-than-average perspective from this true stereo speaker. The signal path is a dual mono construction with separate inputs and crossover PCB's for each channel. Two switches ensure that both channels can be tuned for the acoustics of your listening room, resulting in fantastic integration and a high level of details.
Typical use will be for stereo in small to medium-sized rooms. It is also possible to apply the PHANTOM E-60 S as height speaker(s) in a multi-channel setup.
The PHANTOM E series
The DALI PHANTOM E-60 S is designed for optimum in-ceiling use, but will also work if mounted in-wall. It is all about true hi-fi sound, versatility, and flexibility. The compact construction and the easy-to-use compass positioning guide makes it very straight forward to adjust the speaker for the optimum sound experience. Two discreet switches offer audio adjustment options to ensure that the listener gets the most from the speakers, even in rooms that traditionally are difficult.
The tilted woofer and the two off-centre soft dome tweeters blend gracefully and produce a richly detailed and crisp soundstage. The polypropylene cone is more resilient towards humidity than the traditional DALI wood fibre cone material, making the PHANTOM E-60 S flexible in regards to placement in covered outdoor areas and bathrooms.
The PHANTOM E-60 S can also be combined with the optional, well-known DALI backbox, which protects the speaker against moisture, dust and dirt. It keeps the sound quality consistent (symmetrical loading), even if the acoustic environment behind the walls/ceiling is uneven. With the backbox, you avoid rear sound radiation, reducing acoustic leakage from room to room and from floor to floor. The DALI backbox is not included with the PHANTOM E-60 S, but can be chosen as an optional accessory.
FLEXIBILITY IN FUNCTION
The PHANTOM E-series are easy to place anywhere in any room, and will even work perfectly off-axis in challenging situations and environments due to two audio settings used for adjusting the performance of the speaker.
The very thin magnetic front grilles integrates almost seamlessly into any home environment.
The dogleg mounting system makes the install process an easy one-step action simply by tightning the dedicated screws to swing out the dogleg brackets.
All speakers by DALI are designed around the principle of wide dispersion. This entails an off-axis optimisation of the audio reproduction. The technology is perfect for use in install speakers, since they are always mounted flush against either a wall or ceiling.
The two 20 mm ultra-lightweight soft dome tweeters coupled with the well known PHANTOM E polypropylene woofer – here equipped with a dual voice coil - ensure a compact, yet high quality, two-way, two-channel performance.
Separate crossover boards and channel-specific adjustment possibilities ensure discrete left and right signals all the way from inputs to drivers. And with a 144 mm distance between the tweeters, DALI engineers have done everything possible to optimize stereo performance.
The compass rose on the outer edge help direct the speaker for optimum sound stage.
Flexibility was important when designing the PHANTOM E-60 S, and the ability to use the speaker in areas not fit for traditional DALI speakers was a large part of this. To ensure the best balance between durability and great audio reproduction polypropylene was chosen for the cone material.
The woofer is tilted and angled for improved directionality and sound staging. The cone, surround and magnet motor system is designed according to the DALI low-loss principles. This makes the PHANTOM E-60 S an easy speaker to drive, and even smaller amplifiers will be able to deliver a high quality audio experience with the PHANTOM E-60 S.
