With the Sonos app, you can enable features like automatic Trueplay tuning and Sonos Voice Control, personalise settings and keep your speaker updated with the latest software. You also get all the benefits of listening on WiFi when you're at home, including Sonos Radio, Apple AirPlay 2, Amazon Alexa and multi-room listening with other Sonos speakers.
What's the difference between Bluetooth and WiFi?
Bluetooth pairs or connects devices using short-range radio waves. WiFi similarly pairs or connects devices, but it also connects to the internet. Internet access allows you to stream higher-fidelity audio over greater distances, group or stereo pair Sonos speakers, and more.
Does voice control work on Bluetooth?
You can use Sonos Voice Control for essential playback controls (e.g. pause, adjust volume, skip, and resume) on Bluetooth after you have selected content to stream from your device. Initiating playback requires internet access to look up information. Amazon Alexa requires an internet connection.
How do I charge Roam 2?
Connect the included USB-C to USB-C cable to a compatible power adapter (7.5W or higher). You can also place the speaker on any Qi-certified charger or the Sonos Roam Wireless Charger.
Can I create a stereo pair with Roam 2 and Roam?
Yes. When you're on WiFi, you can create a stereo pair with Roam 2 and Roam to enjoy stereo separation and a wider soundstage. Please note that a pair of portable speakers will not work as rear surround speakers in your Sonos home cinema system.
